Updating structures, indexes, views and the like are a potential source of trouble. Perhaps the single best investment I've made in terms of a third party VFP tool is SDT; the ability to distribute metadata updates and have them applied programmatically, as well as the great reindex and repair tools, have paid off tremendously. Most of the commercial frameworks already have hooks for SDT built in, too.
