Let's put it this way. Let's say it's 1940. Would you be keen on undergoing difficult medical procedures in that day and age?
It seems to me we look back at not such a long time ago, and we consider a lot of what happened back then to be barbaric.
Also, back then, there really wasn't much of a big deal with addiction, as far as I can tell. That's a more recent fad.
There's an untold story of fatalities I think you can contribute in part to a process referred to today as "professional help", which we're likely to look back at as "really messed up."
Which is why I ask.
What type of treatment are you suggesting for Beane? I'm not entirely convinced it really matters to you, because you believe the medical community has it handled. Very few ask for anything but absolute sobriety.
