>>We have thousands of clients and I'm sure have hundreds of them at W8.1. I don't hear any complain about 8.1 still yet. Also my home notebook has 8.1, I couldn't used yet but in the other case there is no problem...

>Well, we have our applications running in 300+ workstations without problem, many of our applications run 24/7 for they log data coming from the different train systems, all of them work fine IF they do not have Windows 8.1, as soon as we install 8.1 (with only one workstation as the exception as I mentioned) we have problems immediately, going back to 8.0 on the same computers and the problems disappear. There is nothing special in the computer without problems, one of the network guys checked all drivers/software/policies etc and other than a policy that was not applied for said computer, everything was the same including brand and model as we buy computers in batchs.
Stupid question -- did it make a difference if the computers in question were running 8.1 or 8.1 Pro?
I do recall back when Vista was released, there were problems that would crop up if you used the default power profile -- you needed to make sure that the network interface wasn't put on standby during idle (otherwise you ended up with a periodic disconnect from the network).
