Yup. That is a really mixed bag.

The Bears already fired Marc Trestman and GM Phil Emery, as was widely expected. One thing the Tribune's beat reporter Brad Biggs pointed out in his column today is that this is bad news not only for Trestman but for every coach in the CFL who has aspirations of using it as a steppingstone to the NFL. It may be a while before that happens again. Trestman was a nice guy -- too nice. He stressed teamwork when in actuality it is 53 guys with their separate agendas. Kind of like Obama, they knew they didn't have to fear him. And in a profession with generally short earning potential that's a bomb waiting to go off.

I read online that Rex Ryan has already cleared out his office although nothing has been announced. He's not smart enough to coach a bunch of bums to even mediocrity but he is smart enough to know which way the wind blows.
