As I've said before, this hocus-pocus group of shamans needs to be exposed for what it is.
Before I was eligible for Medicare, I had a "Cadillac" plan.
While I had the Cadillac plan my primary care MD insisted that I needed an annual checkup that included blood work, chest xray, EKG, breathing test, stress test, etc, etc.
I used to spend most of the day there.
Since I've switched to Medicare he listens to my heart, asks me how I feel, futilely tries to shill some expensive proprietary drugs (I've noticed that once drugs become generic- no one seems to want to shill them) , tells me to exercise more and sends me home after 20 minutes.
Based on what Emanuel says that 20 minutes is probably unnecessary and might even be detrimental.

With these shamans determining what is "necessary" there is no conceivable funding mechanism that would work.
