Sounds like you need to find a better primary. At my last physical, my primary spent about an hour with me (albeit some of it talking about childraising--she has three kids at home). She did a thorough exam, and listened to the concerns I'd come in with. Yes, she sent me to a specialist, but it was appropriate. Other than the usual blood and urine tests that go with a physical, the only test I had was an EKG in the office.
My doc is part of a group, so when I'm sick or injured, I see whoever's in the office, but I've been pleased with every doc I've seen in this practice.
