>The annoying thing about icons on desktop... they never stay where you left them. I don't really use them on my machine - I use bbLean and Launchy - but on a few servers where I remote frequently I have to use them and I've laid them out in some way which makes sense to me. Many of them are set for all users so I can't just delete them or move them into a folder, so this spatial grouping helps me a lot.

And guess what - all the icons are laid out in three columns on the left, kind of alphabetically (i.e. "Recycle bin" is on top, the rest is alphabetic). Just like Windows 95, where this happened weekly. And this is WServer 2008... so in thirteen years they haven't bothered to fix this. I assume they are busy fixing the file copying, so there's no time to do this one.

I have a mulitmonitor set. Everytime one of the monitors is shut down all the icons (infact: all windows) are rearanged and do not arange back. At least Windows supports multi monitors now. :)
