Hi John

>Take a look at www.dabodev.com. Dabo does exactly what you are looking for - it uses sqlite as the cursor and almost any database as the storage.

I am not writing a persistent db application at all, the use of the db is exclusively as a local storage with zero-concurrency and demanding requirements in terms of data massaging speed. I do see any clear link with Dabo scope. My question is more on the "should I use pandas or sqlite" side?. But you are right, I should take a look to dabo at first and possibly question their mailing-list. I'll do so!

Have a nice week-end

Daniel

PS: phoenix seems to be losing some of its steam these days. Do you feel that there is a chance that a workable "python3-based" wxpython be delivered before June this year?
