>>the vaccination fiasco.

You mean the Measles outbreak?

My advice: watch argument and counterargument as people jostle for advantage. Easiest way to assess: compare each claim to the reality that the US had eliminated Measles by 2000. Any rationalization that doesn't explain "what the heck happened since" is junk science.

FWIW, Smallpox was eradicated by 1979 after organized global campaigns and Polio hopefully will be next and/or Malaria. Re Polio: I'm old enough to remember middle-aged ladies in iron lungs being permanent residents on hospital wards. Sometimes people are so focused on complaining that they forget how successful Western Society has been at removing risk and making life safer. Most of this happened in the period up to the 1970s-1980s and when you look at what we're doing to pass on similar advantage to those who follow- we seem to be winding back advantages and replacing it with the gift of unpayable debt. What wonderful people we are.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
