Looks like there are several applications named TrayApp, ranging from Windows built-in tray application to a virus, so it's difficult to say if it's safe to remove. What happens if you just shutdown the program?
>Lately I have noticed that when I start my PC (windows 7 pro) the program TrayApp.exe starts. I don't know if this is a coincidence but I have had Outlook "telling" me that one of the .pst file I use is being locked by another application. I have not figured out what is locking this .pst (not Outlook.pst but an "external" .pst file). The TrayApp.exe starts in the following directory:
