Michel, I'm sure you realize this - SSMS is a desktop application with a user interface - and a job in Agent is part of the Agent Service (working in conjunction in the SQL Server Service).. So even if you close SSMS, the Agent service is still running (unless you go into Services and turn off either Agent or the relational database service)
