Not necessarily. A person can hold one set of beliefs without them affecting their views on public policy. I am not going to drop the context of Democrats who personally oppose abortion and even work with charities that work against abortion (like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden) - and yet support Roe v Wade.

Using what you described as an indicator in itself is VERY questionable and opens up many cans of works (with both parties).

Once again, it is the wrong question.
