This is what Craig said that JSON files are smaller than XML. One problem I see is that dealing with XML in VFP is easy (many native functions) and it is important when these configuration files have to be shared by both .NET and VFP. JSON is only coming into being and mostly in the new version of VS. The way MS changes their technology, I might as well skip learning JSON and wait for the next "thing" :)
