One problem I see is that dealing with XML in VFP is easy (many native functions) and it is important when these configuration files have to be shared by both .NET and VFP. JSON is only coming into being and mostly in the new version of VS. The way MS changes their technology, I might as well skip learning JSON and wait for the next "thing" :)


Ummmh, If you do anything in Javascipt, do not excert ANY effort to "skip", as you already know the basics.
One of the nice things of JSON is (similar to Python dicts), that you can have a valid JSON string and then do an eval() on it !
Pretty neat, if you think about it ;-))
