Instead 3 users said "Get rid of those awful blinking 'NOTES' signs". Now they have a small gray button that changes from 'notes' to 'NOTES' when a memo exists. Click and a memo-edit form pops up.

I seem to remember that certain blinking rates may trigger an attack at cases of epilepsy (spelling?), so this may even present some danger. Sure makes even a healthy user tired far ahead of time. Consider this as a vote :)
