No, it's a fair question.

If you look back to my post, I effectively said "if the state is going to designate and mandate gun-free zones, they should seriously consider providing licensed security".

Asking an elderly pastor to pack heat is (contrary to what the NRA might say) likely asking for more trouble - I'm talking about actual security/law enforcement.

My younger brother was a Marine and had a career in security for several years. I learned from him that there are countless nuances of security that most of us never even consider. Again, I can't say with certainty that any of this would make a difference. But I am not going to drop the context that 9 people were killed in an environment where they were completely defenseless, in a state with gun control laws that are (surprisingly) tougher than most states in the U.S.
