>People need to understand the difference between what comes out of legislation/statutes and the laws of nature and human behavior. Not to change the subject, but look at drunk driving. There are all sorts of laws right now that didn't exist decades ago. And yet you still have people who die in auto accidents because of drunk drivers.

Actually, this is one of the rare cases where government intervention has actually worked.

My problem here is selective enforcement.

During the NFL season we have sports bars here in Hamilton where the beer starts flowing before the kickoff of the first game and doesn't stop till after Sunday night football - almost midnight.
If you dared to walk into one of these places around 4PM, the roar from those animals would deafen you.
They are already totally smashed and just getting started.
All a cop would have to do is park a mile down the street and pull them over as they drove away.
That would solve two problems - get those drunks off the street and put that sports bar out of business.

On the other hand, some black kid in Trenton is caught with a joint and is sent to jail.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
