>>>I remember you were saying about Andy, not suffering fools... Why should I when it comes to a topic that should not even be a discussion?

>>>In this country, we still have freedom of speech. Every topic is open to discussion.

>>I never said anything about freedom of speech, but by any logic any idiot knows that no guns means no gun related deaths and more guns mean more gun related deaths. I do not see what can be argued about that.

But remember how impractical prohibition was. Trying to legislate away every firearm in the U.S. is even less practical and is not going to happen.

>People need to understand the difference between what comes out of legislation/statutes and the laws of nature and human behavior. Not to change the subject, but look at drunk driving. There are all sorts of laws right now that didn't exist decades ago. And yet you still have people who die in auto accidents because of drunk drivers.

I like the remark from bill where government intervention did help to reduce the number of drunk drivers.

But seriously, the problem has far more to do with culture and the willingness to get gun control in place rather than stupid arguments like "guns do not kill people, but people kill people", "This could have been prevented if the priest, teacher or nanny had a gun too". One has to be a real idiot to believe such crap.

It is incredibly easy for criminals to get guns here too, however for them carrying a gun, also increases long jail times and even a higher risk of getting caught (because such cases will get a high priority at justice to resolve it). So criminals mainly use them to kill each other and not for robbing 'lab abiding citizens' . The latter is extremely rare as there are better ways of doing that.

We do have guns, but as with most European countries, certain types of guns are banned and for the rest regulations are far more strict than in the US. It does not mean that no incidents happen (Breivik, Norway, Recent events in Brussels and Paris), but the frequency is so much lower than the weekly reports about incidents in the US.

Personally I can't remember when seeing a gun in public... most likely of a police officer... It must have been years.

There are approx. 100 gun related deaths, where the far majority have to do with criminals killing eachother, suicides or relations problems. If you do not fit into these categories, it would be extremely rare that you'd be killed by a gun here.
