>> I have experienced the same type of lockups that you have described. However, I am running on Win95 on an IBM ThinkPad with 160MB of RAM and using Outlook 97. I too have quit trying to use my mail program while doing development. I never had this problem with VFP5 and have seen it consistently in VFP6.

Have you upgraded to Outlook 98 yet? I know there were a number of bug fixes in there, some of which might solve many of these problems.

>> I have forwarded complaints but it is very disappointing to the responses from Microsoft (Randy Brown hope your getting this!). I am running the development tool 12-20 hours a day and losing about 40-60 minutes a day waiting for reboots and Scandisk to run. It is extremely frustrating. I have seen times when getting around the lockup with a CTRL+ALT+DEL and getting the task manager up to see the MSGSVR.EXE (Not Responding).

Yep. I'm gettng all the messages even though its tough to digest some with all this turkey in me <g>. In reading your messages, there definitely appears to be some sort of configuration/compatibility issue, and I can sympathize with your frustrations having to do many reboots.

>> Randy Brown mentioned installing DCOM98. But I thought that was for those people that didn't have IE4 installed on their PC.

I still recommend installing DCOM98 as a first step. I think the best way to isolate your problem(s) is by breaking down things as much as possible to try and get a consistently reproducible scenario. Its quite difficult for the team to investigate problems if 1) the application is very large, and 2) the problems cannot be easily reproducible. Do you know if any of the clients having problems are using NT, or does this appear to be Win9x only?

Thanks...Randy
