We often find that for the first few minutes of a British or Australian show, we have to work pretty hard and then our ear adjusts. (Full disclosure: I think the only Australian show I've watched is "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries"; highly recommended, both for the stories and the costumes, which are just stunning, and I say that was someone who cares nothing about fashion.)
