I speak fluent "New Yawk" and understand a couple of other dialects of American. I can get along in English if I really have to.
I was at a Mickey D in Kentucky and the girl behind the counter asked me
"You wanat superci?"
It took me four tries to translate it.
On a completely different note..........
I vacationed in Hawaii (WOW it was great) and discovered that Captain Cook was not the first European to visit the Islands. After reading the road signs and hearing the names I came to the conclusion the a Polish team of explorers must have visited the Islands a couple of centuries earlier. Having nothing much of value to trade they decided to give almost all their vowels to the Hawaiians and in return got almost all the consonants.
