I wonder in what situation it would be good to arm taxi drivers. Wouldn't you think more taxi drivers would be killed if criminals know that the drivers are armed? Mind you that the criminals would in the back of the taxi and can shoot the taxi driver at any moment leaving the taxi driver without a chance, whether armed or not. Even if the criminals are outside of the taxi, when sitting behind the wheel you're much slower and more limited than a criminal outside of the taxi.

Only if you want more dead taxi drivers you should equip them with guns.
