And I sometimes wonder how "you folks arrive at conclusions" by twisting words. :)

I already stated - legally I oppose the death penalty now (for years I legally favored it), because (despite all the advancements in DNA forensics) of the # of people who have been wrongly convicted. It doesn't happen frequently, but even one is too much.

But morally, when we are talking about someone who has actionably committed first degree murder, and has been convicted - that individual forfeits all rights and can claim no rights.

So legally and even epistemologically, I favor life in prison with no chance of parole. But morally, when an individual takes an innocent life in a context of first degree murder, that is such a monstrous action that I do not believe in atonement or forgiveness, and even capital punishment is too small a punishment.
