if your hosts does the work, the free wifi has no meaning. router is more or less for the local desktops, easiere to maintain.

Only the problem to retrive the updates remains. c't (a german computer mag) has a cool tool that does the updates localy. http://www.heise.de/download/wsus-offline-update-ct.html. All german. But this need to run outside ...
