People love to remember history differently , compared to how it actually happened.

Not too long ago I heard liberals giving some praise to William F Buckley (as an "intelligent" conservative) and describing Reagan in positive terms.

I laugh my you-know-what off when I read those comments. I remember tons and tons of liberals who did nothing but vilify Reagan at the time....who jumped on every sentence of his, said that he was going to cause a nuclear war, etc. And as for Buckley, the vitriol from the left during Buckley's big years was very ugly.

Rachel Maddow describes herself as an "Eisenhower-style" Republican. You and I both know that liberals at the time had a very different view of Ike.

I'm not defending conservatives. I'm a libertarian. But I just sit back and laugh at how liberals characterize contemporary conservatives.
