Thanks for the response. I tried MODI COMM & MODI MEMO and both will do the job.
What I would like to do is visually duplicate an edit box on a form (with the vertical scrollbar). The above two commands occupy the entire form which I don't want.
Adding the DEFINE WINDOW command does this minus the scrollbars.
Edit does this but deactivates the search functionality (as far as I can see).

>Modi comm + "Ctrl+F/G" works in VFP too. But modify memo window (Wname) provides a better interface. Modi comm (or modi memo), Ctrl+F/G needs main FP window visible and Find/Find again menu items be available.
