With earlier versions the trick is to drag the primary and secondary monitors to the correct positions - left-right, up-down

Exactly. My second monitor is positioned slightly to the left, so I was trying to move cursor in that direction, but I later found out I still need to move it in the opposite direction. So, it's a bit contr-intuitive, but no bug here.
