>>And a second question - are you very confident that both the U.S. and Europe have aggressive and effective plans in place to vet out ISIS radicals who try to make it into the mix?
>
>Yes, ISIS is the threat-du-jour.
>You forgot to mention communists, Castro Cubans, Nazis, Bolsheviks, Anarchastics, Iranians, Palestinians, members of the Black Hand, Pakistani's, Al Quaeda, the republic guards, some members of the IRA, most Asians, and lots of other people who have been at one time or another threats-du-jour.

>In fact, with exception of 9/11, deaths from foreign terrorists pale as a threat to the US populace when compared with gun-related murders, mass shootings and domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh.

ISIS is not a "vapor threat" like many of the others. They are brutally killing people of all kinds on a daily basis. No need for good intel there - they post all the deaths on YouTube. Let's stop trying to compare threats and just evaluate the ones at hand. I don't give a whit about how Communists or Cubans were classified in the 60's. ISIS hasn't hit the shores of the US yet - but they will and it will be ugly. Given our lassiez-faire policies towards letting ANYONE into our country - its only a matter of time. Communists had a different economic view...they didn't live a life of murdering all those who didn't conform to their religion. The Cubans made the mistake of allowing Russia to use them as a puppet for missiles and it ended up costing them 40+ years of development (which, by the way, was stupid)

Murders - in five particular cities - are indeed a threat to the US populace. But we are focusing on a small town in OR - not Chicago or New Orleans. In those places, it's not "mass shootings" - more like 100 murder weekends. Domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh?? More like the hundreds of unnamed shooters in a few, specific locations.
