>ISIS is not a "vapor threat" like many of the others.

Neither was Communism in the minds of many at that time.

>> They are brutally killing people of all kinds on a daily basis.
So do lots of dictators. Are they foreign threats?
>> I don't give a whit about how Communists or Cubans were classified in the 60's
Maybe you should.
Much of that rhetoric is being repeated here. It was dead wrong then.
Maybe it is now.

>> Communists had a different economic view...they didn't live a life of murdering all those who didn't conform to their religion.
WHAT???
Ask Russian Jews about that.
How about the millions of nationalist Chinese slaughtered by Mao Zedong because of their ideology?

However, how many Americans were killed by Russians?

>Murders - in five particular cities - are indeed a threat to the US populace. But we are focusing on a small town in OR - not Chicago or New Orleans. In those places, it's not "mass shootings" - more like 100 murder weekends. Domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh?? More like the hundreds of unnamed shooters in a few, specific locations.

Have to agree. Too many deaths from gunshots and each one, no matter what the source, is a tragedy that might have been avoided.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
