Craig,
possibly you've got us wrong.
We do not say MS is better or not. We now how fancy Google is working. And we see the way MS is going more and more. We are concerned about this.
We can read the text MS forces us to accept on a eat or die base (because we can not negotiate). We know how to understand those rights MS is granting itself. And we now that MS will change this rights sooner or later to our disadvantage. This is all we expect from a corporation. What we express is that we dislike it. And we do not believe in the honest MS corp. They are dishonest from start.
And what every all MS folks is told means nothing if a very small group has access to the overall data or the data is open to services. This pure is eyewash.
We do not belive on things a corp says in the open because it is all marketing and this is an euphemism for cheating. IOW what ever MS is saying - we will belive the opposite,

>Let me give you a real example. My MVP profile sits on a Microsoft server. I have to opt-in to share it with the following groups: Microsoft, Other MVPS, Public. Turns out that Microsoft in this case means the MVP program, not Microsoft as a whole. In working with Microsoft technical evangelists for many years, even they don't have access to my profile unless I make it public.

>Here's my biggest problem with Google scanning emails. If I send an email to someone with a GMail account, that email is scanned. I have not authorized Google to do so. The only way to stop this practice is through government regulation.
