>>I spent a couple of days during the 70's working jointly on a project with Dr. Demming - one of the most pompous, boring people I've ever met.
He's a diety in Japan, and my Camry is as fault-free as it is largely because of his ideas, but he was a stiff!

Who cares. If and when I need surgery, give me the technical expert even if I have to put up with her impossible pompous stiff behavior for the day or two I spend with her. IME sometimes the most technically competent people are on the Autistic spectrum and can be a PITA. As competent human beings and managers we need to rise above the distraction and help the PITA do what they do best which often includes outperforming whole teams of we mortals. IMHO.

>>Remember PowerBuilder?

Sure do. And you're describing "Masterly Inactivity" from the House of God. Good call.

>>Il faut cultiver notre jardin.

I'd rather pick more daisies (with plagiarist apologies to Nadine Stair)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
