I know for sure that if I had a gun in the house where my teenage kids could reach it, major accidents would happen.

Then you should never own a gun considering that you cannot be expected to be responsible enough to make sure that it doesn't fall into the hand of your children.

And one must be a moron or a lunatic not to see that the bigger problem is the mental health problem.
