>>>LOL. Apparently you can add apps.skype.com to your restricted sites to block the ads- but also the Skype home screen.

>>>FWIW, the biggest intrusion I see at the moment is the Windows 10 nag icon/popup. I remove the culprit Windows updates and make the recommended registry settings and the nag goes away... only to return a day or ten later.

>>I don't see a nag popup (using Windows 7), but the Windows Updates stopped showing me that there is something to update at all. Two times in the row I manually checked if I had updates (last time it was 58 new updates). I also need to make sure to uncheck that update to Windows 10.

>If you're no longer getting Windows Updates, check its settings in Control Panel. If it's set to not do any updates, and you're unable to change the setting, that's a common sign of a malware infection. One exception to that might be if your computer is domain-joined and updates are tightly controlled and only manually applied across the domain.

>Protip: if you can't get Windows Update to work, phone support from Microsoft for that issue is always free. I believe that's true even if you have an OEM machine (Dell, Lenovo etc.).
The settings seem to be OK, I am just not using this computer often and haven't seen the notification in the tray for a while. For last 3 days I've been checking Windows Updates myself manually and installing them.
I'm attaching my current settings.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
