Way back from the FoxPro DOS days, what I've been doing is backing up the FOXUSER file soon after getting the environment configured -- that way I've got a "starting point" from which I can restore the environment. That saves me the effort of remembering to re-configure all the settings the way that I usually want if I have to reset the FOXUSER files.
