>>Andrew was a .NET developer in addition to being a SQL/BI guru for many years. And while my calling card and Lenni's are mostly in the SQL/BI/Data Warehousing realm, we still have our hands in some .NET development and we've both presented at .NET User Groups with cross-over sessions. We have substantial experience as speakers and we have at least some idea of the successful formula of user group leaders, having done a combined 500+ community sessions for dozens of user groups in the last 10 years.

I get all that- but in fairness, when did you switch from being a NET VFP to a SQL Server MVP? When were you last employed in a NET dev position? My recollection is that you've been a SQL Server-head for many, many years now. Speaking at NET events as a SQL Server MVP makes perfect sense- the NET dudes need to store their data somewhere, right, and SQL Server is the obvious MS choice- but taking over running the NET group because none of the NETties has time?! Wow. Generous.

Don't get all peeved about the reference to Crocodile Dundee aficionados suddenly turning up running Trump's funding drive. The reference is about discordance, not a suggestion that you think of yourself as Crocodile Goff or secretly mastermind the Republican front runner's drive for President. I think if you familiarize yourself with the Crocodile Dundee meme, you'll see that the intended joke is a lot deeper than a reference to Trump. ;-)

FWIW, if you look up the NY Android user group on Meetup you'll see it's also run by somebody called Kevin G. Maybe the Kevin Gs have a cunning plan to take over all user groups and dominate the world. Yes, that also is a joke. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
