>>Yep. When GWB was President and I be upset about what he was doing, my FIL would ask "Can you find 3 good things to say about the man?" I'd stop and make the effort. It seems to me that a lot of Obama's opponents wouldn't even be willing to give that a try.

>Yes, I'm pretty critical of him too.
>His foreign policy blunders were so monumental that no matter what else he did, that's what comes to mind when most people think of him.
>In my case, I do think of that but I also think of something else.
>He and I share a love of oil painting.
>The attached is a letter he sent me while he was still in office.
>There's quite a back story to it with some hilarious twists and turns- too long to go into here- but let me just say the letter was a very kind gesture on his part and came as a complete surprise.
>So he'll always be a classy man in my mind.

Glad to hear it. I'm pretty sure history will list him as one of our worst presidents of all time.

I also look forward to the day when presidents don't have to end every speech or letter with "God bless the United States of America." IMO, it's totally inappropriate just like the addition of "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance.
