Is it possible that for some reason she has ClearType turned off?
Failing that, Googling [firefox set fonts to default] yields some results.
If you're willing to reset Firefox to the factory condition (loses add-ons etc.) you can do
Menu button...Help...Troubleshooting information...Refresh Firefox button
