In reality, for the user there is no extra step. He just need to press enter to submit the data. From any control on your form. Anything else is by code. :) If user decides to tab to the button and pres enter / space - this is users decision. Enter alone will do.
And in my not so humble opinion, data should be aubmitted in some way, enter is the normal way? I would be a bit surprised if I tab through a form and it post data on tab. This is as ugly as modern ui where one has no ok and cancel - every mistake is perma.
