Koen, you are not right on this. Yousfi has "used" public code linking the source and adapted it to make an example.
Yousfi code works "as is", while Mike's code does not in it's actual form.

The "mean" of publishing code on the web is that others can reuse it, as it is the case, and the original source is linked, so he is not giving the solution as his own code, which is clear from the start.

What is the problem with this? Because I don't see it.
