"To adopt" is not the same as "to adapt". In fact, what Yousfi did was to apply the code from Mike Gagnon exactly as Mike instructed. This is not an adaptation and I think Yousfi was not right in the wording.

At the same time, I think this does not need to escalate: many of us in the UT community (and the four of us for starters) do not have English as native language, so we are entitled to a fair margin of indulgence towards the precision of its usage.

And, mainly, I think John may become too wary as he's seeing a few of his threads being diverged, moving way out of his programming considerations. Whenever possible, I would recommend UT private messaging and give people the opportunity to retract, if the issue is lateral or off-topic. I, for one, certainly appreciate and welcome such gentle notices, when they come in my direction.
