Lower than $1 per hour????? I don't think so. Of course, if you live in a very expensive place and want to go to an ivy league school, it probably is not possible to do so today. When I did it, I live in Akron, Ohio and went to state universities. Also, there are loads of community colleges where the tuition is even cheaper. As a matter of fact, I met a couple of bartenders in Akron and in Arkansas that were doing just that - working their way through school. So apparently it can still be done today if one has reasonable expectations about where to live and where to attend school....
