>I think I did just tell you how I really feel about Pence. Virtually everything he's been for harms real people.

I understand both sides of the abortion issue - illegal back alley abortions and the mayhem that ensues are tragic.

I think you should respect the other side on this issue.
Defining life that is human... as somehow not a human life is a mental somersault - a sleight of hand.
Defining ANY human life as inconvenient and somehow not human is dangerous,
I don't need to point out who else defined some human lives as less than human.
Valuing any human life no matter unwanted and unloved must be a moral position.

It is the same impulse that opposes the death penalty and welcomes refugees.
Valuing all human life and keeping real lives from harm is a just cause.
Being aborted would have ruined my younger brothers life - he would not exist.
(Our mother had Rubella while pregnant and it causes birth defects - she was pressured to have an abortion in 1960)
(Brother was lucky - the collection of birth defects he suffered are annoying and worse, but he is living a full life)
So - there is a real person who would be harmed by abortion - my brother.

As for the rest of the list - the bulk of those NO votes are voting not to spend money.
Somebody has to pay for that spending.
This is not a theoretical - that money must be taken away from somebody else.
My mother nearly lost our childhood home to insane increases in property taxes before California passed proposition 13.
Our lives would have certainly turned out differently had she lost the house.
So - there are 4 kids and 2 parents who would have been harmed by increasing taxation.

Spending other people's money with wild abandon is not charity.
It may be good politics to pretend the money is free - but it most certainly is not.

The social crap - opposing gay marriage etc. is more government meddling in peoples lives.
Not quite as disgusting as the phony war on drugs that is ruining many lives and destroying families.
Anything other people want to do that does not affect you - how in the hell is it the governments business at all?

Pity that Libertarians won't ever win elections.
The government should stay out of our bedrooms and out of our pockets.
