My father's younger sister and her husband had 8 children (men and women did that in those days) -3 boys and 5 girls - and raised them in the depths of the depression in a house with one bathroom.
Now, that was something to see.
My uncle, a former army lieutenant, lined them up in ranks and dispatched them to bed in shifts, including timed stops in the bathroom.
When the girls reached their teens things got a bit dicey, but by then some of the older ones had moved out.
All of my cousins have been been quite successful and gave my aunt and uncle 24 grandchildren and an uncountable number of great-granchildren that is still growing.
You can be sure of one thing- each of their homes has at least 3 bathrooms.
