And there must be thousands of physicians in the US thinking they recognize those shallow coughing paroxysms, especially now that it's progressed to pneumonia. So far they're being polite simply calling for better disclosure- but eventually some old-fashioned diagnostician or neurologist will blurt out what it looks like.
