>When I put my tablet to sleep, HipChat can no longer reconnect. Even if I try to click on the red notification to reconnect, at the top, this will not work. I have to quit the application and restart it in order for it to recover from the sleep mode. Is there anyone who can confirm if when going in sleep mode you have the same behavior?

I can't answer the specific question, but in general you can:

- go into Device Manager, the properties of your network adapter, power management tab and don't allow Windows to switch off the network adapter to save power in sleep mode. Note that in battery mode this may reduce battery life

- look at the advanced/detailed properties of your power management plan in Control Panel. If there are network/WiFi settings adjust as required. You may also consider preventing Windows from turning off your hard drive to conserve power, which might also be interpreted by a running app as a failure or disconnect. Again, adjusting these settings may affect battery life

Of course, the above won't help if there's some sort of inactivity timeout in the app itself (at the server or client end).
