I think fascination with zombies is just about the most idiotic thing in the world.
I'll bet there's a direct relationship between fascination/preoccupation with a zombie apocalypse, and people with way too much time on their hands.
TV shows like Walking Dead drive me nuts. Yes, I'm a fan of slasher movies from the '80's...I make a distinction between slasher movies (where the writers usually make sure that the victims are stupid to begin with) and stuff like "Walking Dead". My wife actually tried to get me to watch "Walking Dead". After the horse scene, I vowed never to watch that vile show again.
I'll make one exception - once in a great while there's a zombie movie that's moderately funny. Zombieland (with Woody Harrelson) was worth a few laughs. At least the theme in that movie is that "regular humans" will still prevail in the end.
