Doing engine swaps can be a major task. I drive a Lotus Elise, and there are guys that are putting tweaked Honda K20 turbo motors in them - in some cases getting huge power gains - like this guy haha

There are a lot of things you can do with a car's ECU these days to get more power too - lots of software out there to program them differently. My supercharged Elise gets 220HP from the factory - but with an ECU tune and other minor tweaks I'm at 258HP now.
