>>On the embolded part: Were those arrests motivated by the actions of perps, nonwithstanding surrounding groups?

Not sure. Clearly the rally goers were confined to a small huddle unable to cause any grief. Those who turned up hoping to provoke a rumble turned their sights on police instead, which tells you their mind-set. Of course it's not helpful to label all the counter protestors by the actions of a few.

>>Either mark perps (paintball guns, artificial genetic code for instance) during the act and pick them up later or run the gauntlet to take them during the action.

I'm thinking that lawful assembly doesn't involve baseball bats or covered faces. Those who can't cope with that should be corralled away or arrested. Of course the Right says it arms up because of previous assaults by the Left while many in the Left either deny any such behavior or claim it's good to attack as long as you label them Nazis first.

As for the KKK: the proper response is to ridicule. Turn up in your thousands wearing dunce caps and clown paraphernalia. Whereas take them seriously and you make all their dreams come true, attracting more members who hope to make it onto national TV.

>>Not much hope for embolded part. There is always the counter-story of police "provoking", even if several cameras shows otherwise. And the verbal twistings on the left from our MSM to political parties are so ludicrous I wonder why attempted at all, but seem to cement the narrative in some groups. Again speaking years of watching such actions, as Frankfurt Skyscrapers replacing cheap housing kept Vietnam and student protests alive during the seventies, our Airport growing was a focal point after that and now we have the ECB ;-)

Europe seems to have many leaders who have no kids. The role for we westerners used to be to deliver the nation better than we found it for the benefit of those who follow- whereas at least in the US, latest figures show that the current generation is the first in the US to be worse off than the boomers who came before who earned 20% more inflation-adjusted despite not being as well educated and not accruing education debt. The main hoover-uppers of the difference have no problem with the South resenting North hostility to 4 years of Confederacy out of 247 years of slavery, racial divides and big focus on pulling down statues as if that solves something. What it does do, is distract from those who benefit from all the economic and social changes damaging today's young.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
