>As for the KKK: the proper response is to ridicule.

The first response to any extreme group is to govern.

Those groups take hold when large groups feel as if no one in authority can or will help them, or in some cases, the people they are trying to intimidate.

Our federal government stopped functioning on behalf of the people when Reagan was elected. Reagan turned it into a government of the rich for the rich and it has moved in that direction at a steadily increasing pace ever since, under dems and repubs.

All one has to do is drive on the interstate highway system to see the results of years of under-taxing the wealthy while prosecuting endless wars. The airports and federally operated rail systems are even more eloquent.
Try spending some time in a VA health facility.

Trump was elected because there is a huge desperate underclass here.
He won't help them, but neither would have any of the other options.

Extremists thrive on desperation.

It would be pretty easy to turn things around.
Bernie has some good ideas, and there are lots of people - in both parties- who agree with him.

The media is a huge player in this conspiracy. If you look at media ownership (massive monopolies) it becomes clear their why minions focus on things like what Trump says about women and who yelled at whom over what.

This discussion over which fringe group is worse is a classic example of upper-class let-them-kill-each-other off strategy.

Has anyone mentioned tax rates lately?
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
