I'm converting my Visual Promatrix (VFP 9) app to access SQL Server. The client needs data security, encryption at rest and in transit. I'm new to SQL Server and I am first re-writing my app using views and then remote views to access SQL Server. Maybe someone with experience can give me a few pointers on the best way to implement this and any issues I may encounter. I think SQL Server can encrypt the data but is it decrypted automatically when queried? Is there a way the data in transit can be protected?
